An example that connects the ideas

A wave travelling at 340 m/s with frequency 170 Hz has wavelength λ = v/f = 2 m. If its frequency doubles in the same nondispersive medium, speed stays 340 m/s and wavelength becomes 1 m. Higher frequency alone does not imply faster propagation.

A question to check understanding

Is the medium’s particle speed 340 m/s? No. Wave speed describes propagation of the disturbance, not the local oscillation speed.

Exam preparation

Review with a clear plan.

Alternate wave graphs, standing-wave patterns and numerical interference questions. State the boundary conditions rather than selecting a harmonic formula by appearance. Use your outline to confirm which optics, quantum or nuclear topics are included; the course title alone is insufficient.
